Without a computer, without an Internet connection, from any mobile phone you may receive through simple text messages detailed weather forecast covering the whole Mediterranean for up to 10 days, choosing one or more sea areas of your interest. The weather forecast is summarised through practical text messages that you can store in your mobile phone and view whenever you wish. This service is particularly recommended if you navigate abroad, because it has no additional cost associated to foreign telephone companies. You only pay for the subscription, with no unexpected surprises.

How it works

After subscribing and activating one of the advantageous subscription plans, you have two possibilities to get the text messages: set up all details from the website before leaving or during the navigation or, without ever connecting to the web, send the instruction text messages to (+39) 320.204.32.52 to set up the service.
You can choose the sea areas of your interest, the weather forecast data you wish to get, its frequency (once or twice per day), the timespan (24, 48, 72 hours, 10 days) and the delivery period.
There are also two delivery methods: automatic, by setting the weather forecast for a given period of time, or on request, activating the service each time. In order to get the weather forecast for the area(s) you have chosen, you must enter the numeric code(s) associated to Mediterranean regions. If you don't know the code of the sea area of your interest , click on "Print areas" or send an e-mail to yourself with all the areas.

What you get

You can choose to receive sea weather forecast text messages with three different information combinations:

1-Wind and Sea	2-Wind and weather	3-Wind, Sea, Weather and Temperatures (2 text messages)

Each day, weather forecast is based on the following time schedule: 6 am, noon, 6 pm and midnight during the first 5 days. During the next 5 days, data is on a 24-hour basis. You may decide to get updated sea weather forecast text messages once or twice a day, at about 9.35 am and at 9.35 pm.

Delivery method

Suspending, resuming and changing the area
In order to suspend the text message delivery, send a message to:

To resume/activate the service, or to change the sea area, you just need to send a text message to the following number:

with the following wording: meteomed on followed by the numeric code of the area or areas of your interest.

Example (for Eastern Liguria, sea area 4):

Warning: always remember to leave a blank space between the word meteomed and the sea area numeric code, as well as between two areas, or the delivery will not be successful.

In order to promptly receive text messages with wind, sea, weather and temperature forecast for the area(s) chosen without activating automatic delivery, send a text message to the following number:

with the wording meteomed on followed by the numeric code of the area or areas of your interest.
Example (for Eastern Liguria, sea area 4 and Eastern Ligurian Sea offshore area 122):

If you send a request by text message by noon, you will receive the weather forecast starting from the current day, whereas after noon the weather forecast will start from the following day, for 24/48/72 hours or 10 days, based on the setting you have selected.
If you have not set your preferred timespan in the relevant web area, you will always get 10-day forecast messages.

In order to know your subscription status, send a text message to the number

Warning: the use of this service will be charged by deducting 1 text message per each request.

Text message consumption

How many text messages will you use for each delivery?
It depends o the quantity of information required. For each forecast day and for each area, you will be deducted 1 text message. So, for example, if you require the 72-hour wind/sea forecast, you will be deducted 3 text messages per each delivery.

Warning: if you edit the automatic delivery settings from your mobile phone (therefore delivery activation, suspension, or area change) you will get a confirmation  text message for the action required, which will be deducted from your balance. If you send a request to know your subscription status, you will be deducted one text message.
